CLUB, SOCIETY AND VILLAGE REPORTS
Great Mongeham Horticultural Society Another well attended meeting when Mrs Susan Jones spoke on organic gardening and allotments, just part of her busy schedule including Mayor of Dover. Many questions were asked and hints shared between the audience and Susan. During the business a minute’s silence was held in memory of Maurice Greener. Steve Pitcher gave a short talk on preparing a space for the pumpkin competition plants. Steve is growing on the pumpkin seeds to hand to members. With a daffodil competition in April, potato in June and pumpkin later in the year, there is a busy time ahead for members.
Saint Martin’s W.I. Welcomed many visitors to hear PC Jennifer Preston talk about Police dogs. She was accompanied by GSD Barney and ESS Fred, aliases for undercover work. PSB
Great Mongeham Society It was good to welcome new members and visitors to hear Steve Walker talk with slides about Samphire Hoe—from what made up the chalk of the cliff to the present flora and fauna. Just one that thrives, the Early Spider Orchid counted in 2009 at 11,500 plants. PSB
Garage Sale Safari
